Chinese Hulusi

This one carries a calm, reedy sweetness that feels both ancient and intimate. What drew me to it was that haunting serenity—it's an instrument that doesn't rush, but rather wanders through emotion. Even a few simple notes can fill a space with stillness, if not by the volume alone. I've felt anything from emotional, Eastern-sounding melodies to Irish dance sort of vibes while playing this one—sometimes all at once. Celebration, anybody?
